Of the crimes related to the public service dealt with by the Federal Penal Code No. (3) of 1987 and its amendments by criminalizing, imprimanding and punishing the crime of bribery committed by the public employee or in charge of public service.

The Penal Code provides for the penalty of provisional imprisonment (3-15 years) for every employee or person charged with a public service, requesting or accepting for himself or any other person a gift or a gift of any kind or promise to perform an act or refrain from acting in breach of the duties of his job.

The crime of bribery committed by a public official or a public service officer is considered a crime that requires investigation by the Public Prosecution.
