The Dubai Court of Appeal has commuted a prison sentence imposed by a criminal court against a supervisor of Gulf positions who was convicted of embezzling AED 224,000 to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) over three years in cooperation with unknown individuals. Fake fuel and embezzlement, with the help of filling workers in petrol stations, and deducting the amounts from the cards in batches.

During his trial, the defendant said that the devil had been seduced by doing so because he needed to pay for his father's treatment, while the appeals court sentenced him to three months instead of six months in accordance with the previous sentence.

According to an internal auditor at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) who specializes in combating fraud crimes in the Public Prosecution's investigations, a complaint by one of the employees of the Authority indicates that there was a defect in the invoices submitted by the Petroleum Company for filling the fuel for the Authority's vehicles. All the suspicious invoices were found to be related to vehicle invoices used by the accused, all issued by a certain oil station, and the value of the manipulated fuel amounted to 224,508 dirhams. The accused was summoned and investigated internally.

When asked about the suspicious invoices, he said that he cooperated with the fuel-filling workers at that station by carrying out mock-ups. The station worker used the fuel filling cards of the Roads Authority to fill private vehicles that were not owned by the Authority.

The auditor pointed out that "the accused explained the names of workers cooperated with him in the implementation of these operations for small amounts was given to them in exchange for the use of his card, pointing out that all imaginary mobilization operations were carried out at the same time, and excessively exceeded the capacity of the fuel tank of the vehicle that was in possession As well as the repetition of the mobilization, more than the need for the car fuel, was separated between them one minute using the same card, especially since the vehicles are equipped with electronic tracking system, which shows the distance made by the vehicle during operation, and compare the amount of fuel needed.
